Hey… I’m sure most of you probably know me either from lessons or from being around the studio… I’ve been coming to JDStudio ever since it opened at the current location! So here’s a bit about me… I have been dancing my whole life, starting ballet when I was 3 and moving across to Disco when I was 8. I took a lot of exams in Disco and I was only two away from qualifying as a dance teacher when my old studio shut down… I transferred my passion for dance into a passion for pole and aerial hoop and I have been teaching for a couple of years for SFAA. I have been lucky to have some fantastic experiences in the pole industry. I have been on workshops with Zorena & Angela, Amy Hazel, Bendy Kate and more, from 2014-2016 and I have learned so much from them. I love to create and choreograph new routines, for showcases and competitions as well as guest performances. I guest performed at the Southampton University showcase in 2016 with Zorena! I thrive on the competition side of pole and hoop and I have performed quite well in a number of comps….

I am registered as a PDC level 3 instructor and I have also undertaken our in-house pole certification. I would love to continue to learn more, I plan on undertaking my advanced hoop and pole certifications, and go to more workshops over the next year or so… I have also made the transition into judging events, I judged the Solent Youth Hoop Competition in 2015 as the representative from SFAA. I also judged the final of the Bristol Pole Championships in 2017. I find judging very challenging but I really enjoy the creativity of the competitors and the variety of styles that I have seen. I would like to say my teaching style is fun and relaxed with everyone going away feeling like they have worked hard. I try to include conditioning/fitness into the lessons, interesting progressions and routine/combo work for a varied lesson where everyone feels challenged! Look out for my classes on the timetable!
